The 2023 Mississippi High School Boys Track and Field season promises to be a thrilling one, especially in the sprints sprinting events.

It is to no one's surprise that Omari Hampton, the reigning MHSAA 6A Champion in the 100m and 200m, is the top returner in the 100m dash, as well as No. 6 in the 200m dash. Hampton is a short sprint specialist  who currently leads Mississippi in the 60-meter dash at 6.98 seconds. 

On the other hand, Canton's La'Javeon Griffin seems to be the most well-rounded sprinter, ranking in the top five in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter dash. He has lifetime bests of 10.74, 22.10, and 49.94, respectively.

In the 200-meter dash, Jamarcus Garrett of Tylertown is the top returner at 21.70 seconds, but Jerquavious Lowey, the reigning MHSAA 5A Champion in the 200m, looks to be the more consistent performer at that speed.

In the 400-meter dash, Clinton's Jordyn Battee is the top returner with a time of 49.09 seconds, but Cooper Rodgers, the reigning MHSAA...
