Although the race was tactical, Pearl's Jaquavion Bryant, the 2022 MHSAA 6A Cross Country Champion, was the fastest performer of all state meets with a 16:04.1, out-kicking Tupelo's Jaheim Bridges, the 2022 MHSAA 6A 1600m Champion, to the line.
Heritage Academy's Sidney Stegall, the 2022 Mississippi XC All-State Champion, was the fastest performer outside of MHSAA 6A, and the only athlete inside of the top 10 not in MHSAA 6A.
The 2022 Mid-South Homeschool XC Championships could be considered the fastest in Mississippi Homeschool history, as Tupelo Spartans' Jeb Hamilton and Sam Johnson found themselves inside of the top 15.
