Note: Athletes who have been nominated in the past two weeks are not eligible. Previous winners are excluded for the rest of the season.
This Week's Nominees:
Kamiah Mounger, Clinton: Won the 400m at the Woody Barnett Invitational in 55.66, taking down the state leader in the process. She now ranks second in Mississippi this season and later contributed to Clinton's state record-breaking 4x400m relay.
Caroline Henry, Clinton: Claimed the 1600m title at the Woody Barnett Invitational with a 5:21.57, which ranks sixth in the state this season.
Danasia Ross, Pearl: Won the 300m hurdles at the Woody Barnett Invitational in 45.87, moving up to fifth in Mississippi rankings.
Rylee Fullwood, Magnolia Heights: Ran 11:48.42 in the 3200m at MUS HS Meet 2, making her the second-fastest performer in the state this season and one of the few to break 12:00.
Emerson Yelverton, Biloxi: Finished second in the Kaelin Kersh 800m with a 2:19.54, reinforcing her position as one of the state's top middle-distance runners against a strong field.
