The 2023 Mississippi High School Boys Track and Field season is upon us and the state is gearing up for a thrilling competition in the throws events. Leading the pack is none other than Roury McCloyen, a thrower who is debatably the best male thrower in Mississippi High School Track and Field history.
McCloyen has already made history by becoming the first-ever Mississippi prep to throw over 60 feet in the Shot Put and over 180 feet in the Discus. He achieved this feat multiple times in a single meet, and has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the throws events. A Mississippi State signee, Track and Field fans can look forward to seeing him chase even more records this Spring.
