The Mississippi High School Track and Field preseason rankings in the Women's Jumps are generating a lot of buzz this year, with several talented athletes poised to etch their names in the Mississippi High School Girls overall Track and Field records.
Among the top contenders is Heidi Hudson, who recently put down a top-five national mark in the pentathlon at the Last Chance Invitational and broke indoor state records in the High Jump and Long Jump. Hudson returns as the No. 1 high jumper and No. 2 long jumper behind Biloxi's Cheyanne Alston, the 2022 MHSAA 6A Bronze Medalist in the Long Jump.
Lenasia Drummond is another athlete to watch out for, returning as the No. 3 long jumper and No. 2 triple jumper. A versatile athlete that also made a dent in the 2023 Mississippi High School Girls Track and Field preseason, Drummond is sure to be a strong contender for the top spots in both events this season.
