The Simpson Academy duo of Lilly Overby and Layla Warren became the first duo, and only two Mississippi preps, to go under 19 minutes in the 5K in the 2022 Cross Country season.
The last time it happened in the same race was in 2006, with Tupelo's Crow and Katherine Steinman
Also, the large school of MAIS now has the fastest three 5K times this season with Overby, Warren, and Hartfield's Ella Rankin. This trio was the top three Mississippi finishers at the 2022 Watson Cross Country Classic.
