Week after week, Mississippi's overall cross-country rankings continue to shift as new performances shake up the leaderboard. With fresh times coming in, new names are breaking into the top spots and making their presence known. Each week, we'll highlight the athletes leading the way and track how the state's rankings are evolving.

At the top, Autry Foster of Lewisburg High School is still setting the pace. His 16:20 run at the NMPHC Cross Country Classic gives him an eight-second cushion over the rest of the field.

Right on his heels, Walter Towery has firmly established himself among Mississippi's best with a 16:28 at the Memphis Twilight.

As it stands now, cracking the top 15 in the state requires breaking the 17-minute barrier.
