Due to some errors in timing results will be posted during the day on Friday. The overall team scores will not be changed. 5-6A and 5-4A results have been posted. Please note that the 4A Girls 4X200 was changed.

Heats for Division Meet 19 April in Hattiesburg. Top 4 qualify for Regionals at Meridian on 28 April.

We will run heats in all sprint events as of this posting except the Boys 300 meter Hurdles. There are some cases if one runner scratches we will not have to run heats in that event so checkin will be critical. I will have copies of this at the meet. Any questions contact me at 601-917-2177. NOTE: Only the top 4 times in each heat advance to finals even if 5th place is faster than the other heat.

MOBILE, Ala. - It was a test of wills for most on Saturday (April 14) as the Tulane track and field program competed with their opponents and the wind during the South Alabama Invitational. Nine Green Wave student-athletes claimed individual crowns on the afternoon and an handful of participants claimed personal-best performances.

The track meet at Meridian is cancelled for this weekend. Thanks to all that might have been planning to attend just too close to most Division meets.

Team busses and spectators for the Ole Miss High School meet should park in the parking lot adjacent to Hwy 6 at the Old Taylor Road exit.  Please exit Hwy 6 at Old Taylor Road.  There is a paved path through the wooded area to the Ole Miss Track.  There is no parking on campus during Friday classes.

This is the latest time change for the Saturday Bulldog High School Invitational.   There is only a slight change in that the girl's shot will start at 9:30 a.m. the same time the boy's are throwing discus. Houston Franks

What are some of the characteristics of great sprinters?  This is a small list:   powerful, explosive, strong, high levels of coordination and body control.   Now let’s look at some of the characteristics of great Olympic Style Weightlifters.  Things that you will notice about this group are their power, explosiveness, their strength, coordination, and body control.  It’s easy to see how these two groups are similar regardless of their performance application.

This first episode covers core training techniques. These workouts will apply to you whether you are already on an elite level or just the beginning. For beginners they may serve as an intense workout to build your core muscles. If you're already in shape they are crucial for you to maintain and sharpen that core strength and to prevent injury by helping you stabilize your movement.

I have recieved results for the Pontotoc meet but it was posted online in a format that cannot be used in the rankings. Excell results have to be emailed to me where I can reformat them to RaceTab. Thanks for posting them. Other meet results if they are not in Racetab or hytk flat html should be sent to me to post otherwise you can post direct.

Okay all yiou Division meet directors we are looking for the Good Times. I know that there are many meets out there that were contested and we need the results posted. Email the results in hytek flat html. As they say in New Orleans "LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL" by having them posted on the Milesplt network.

As a record-breaking high jumper and a dynamic dunker for Oxford High School’s track & field and basketball teams, respectively, Justin Fondren, perhaps more than anything else, relies on a fearlessness when he leaves his feet.  

Justin Fondren continues to hit the heights in the High Jump with a jump of 7'2.25" at the Division 2-5A  meet. Sam Kendricks continues his assualt on the pole vault record book with a state best vault of 16'2.25". For complete results of this meet go to the Division 2-5A meet results.

At the meet at Mississippi College on Saturday a polevault pole went missing. The pole was a personal pole belonging to my Vaulter that he made a trip to Joneboro Ark to pickup. The pole cost his family $445.00 which was a sacrifice for his family. The pole is a 12'6" Skypole rated at 130lbs. He marked the different hand holds on the grip. BOSTON, MA, December 8, 2010 – Global athletic leader New Balance is pleased to announce an official multi-year partnership with the National Scholastic Sports Foundation (NSSF) and the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York City in the New Balance Indoor Nationals. The event will bring together the best indoor track and field high school athletes from across the country for a weekend of intense competition.

For all of you that compete out of state please email me and let me know which division you competed in and the Meet name. In some of those big meets with a large number of categories I can miss a school. Please make sure  you email me at jmathews50@bellsouth.net and not Jason Byrnes as this slows down response time as Jason has to forward the message to me. The Tupelo meet has not been posted as the format is not compatible with our rankings. I have been working on it but so far no sucess. Thanks for your patience. The best format for posting is either Racetab or hytek flat html.

To cut down on confusion where athletes are being added to the wrong team I have changed the 2 St. Joe teams to the following. Please use this in your meet formats when possible so that results are added to the correct schools. They will be: Greenville St Joe and Madison St Joe. I hope this will enable us to get the athletes into the correct teams. Thanks

 NIKE ANNOUNCES 24 QUALIFYING CLUBS TO COMPETE IN FIRST EVER “NIKE TRACK NATIONALS” COMPETITION

I am accepting nomination for the top male and female athlete of the year on MSTrackXC.com. It can be any athlete that competed in Track this year. Anyone can voice their opinion with commentsbut I will take nonminations only by email from Coaches. Coaches make  your point in your nomination and I will compile a list with each of their accomplishments then we coaches will vote for the top male and top female. The athletes can be from MSHSAA or MAIS so lets hear from the athletes, the parents and of course from all you coaches.

If you or your team is competing in any Summer Competitions please let me know when, where and what divisions they are competing in. I need the name that they will be competeing under so that I can go though the results to add their times/distances to their results. Seniors that have graduated times will be added to their college rankings if we can.

Tuesday, April 20th, start at 3:30 pm, Pearl High School. Preliminaries in sprint events, finals 3200 meter and field events. Any meet director I will post your meet info all you have to email me your hytek html of the meet program.

This covers the week of 4 - 10 April. For all you Division meet directors please send your hytek flat html results to www.mstrackxc.com so that they can be included in all the rankings. Make sure you include the team scores in the results.

Another week and another couple of meets not sent in. Athletes if you want to be ranked here you have to make sure that your coaches are sending in complete results of your meets. I accept Microsoft Word, Excell spreadsheets, Hytek flat html and Racetab results. Meets from this week without results: Jackson Public Schools, Titan Invitational, Jackson Academy Invitational, and Blue and Gold Relays.

Here is the week in review for results reported to MSTrackXC.com. If your results are not included then the meet director did not send the Hytel Flat html results to us.   Today Nike opened registration and announced details for the Nike Track Nationals competition, the first ever national championship competition to name the best high school track and field program in the United States.

If you are going to host a Division meet (District) please make sure when you register it online that you put in the Division and class. ex. Division 5-4A. Do not call it a district meet it is a Division meet because it does not necessarily line with the the Districts. Division Meet directors milesplit needs you to send a set of results it can be boys and girls combined in hytek flat html. Send jmathews50@bellsouth.net  

The Track Season is now on and results are needed. Read the following article for information on posting results and online registration. Remember athletes cannot be ranked without results from the track meets being posted on the website.

NEW YORK – She looked like she had climbed a mountain or finally shouldered down a locked door that she pounded on for years. When Cory McGee finally snapped the finish line tape all she could do was stand there and take a second to enjoy a moment that teased her for her entire high school career.

Here is the promised MSTrackXC All State All Classification Team. This is based solely on times run at the State Cross Country Championships. Each athlete will get a MSTrackXC Certificate for their efforts. Congratulations to all the athletes that participated in the State Championships weither you where first or last you gave it your best.
