After another amazing week of track and field in Mississippi, here are the athletes up for the title of Performer of the Week.

Kaitlyn Burge's State Lead in 3200m/1600m

At the MHSAA Region 1-7A meet, Kaitlyn Burge dominated the 1600m and 3200m races with times of 5:03 and 11:02. Not only are these both the fastest times in Mississippi this year, but they also break into the all-time rankings. Burge now sits as the 6th fastest 1600m runner and the 9th fastest 3200m runner in Mississippi history. 

Jordyn Moody 56.86 in 400m

The state leader in the 400m throws down her 4th straight race under the 57-second mark. Jordyn Moody of Oak Grove High School is the only person in the state to break 58, and her time of 56.86 at regionals continues to showcase her consistency and strength.

Kaitlyn Jones 45.07 in the 300mH

The state leader in the 300mH,  Kaitlyn Jones of Clinton High School is the only athlete in the state to run below 46 seconds in this event. At the MHSAA Region 2-7A meet, she came within one-hundredths of a second to her season best with a blazing 45.07. 

Jenesis Williams 14.75 in 100mH

Another Clinton athlete, Jenesis Williams, hit the third-best time in the state with her new personal best of 14.75 in the 100mH. This is a solid personal best for her and puts her in range of some of Mississippi's best hurdlers.

Aryn Eady Doubles in Discus and Shot

This week, D'Ilberville's star athlete Aryn Eady came away with the leading throws in discus and shot put. She has been consistent in both events all year and is still pushing the envelope with her throw of 136-4 and 36-8.75 at her regional meet.

Sahara Cooper Lands 18-2.5 in Long Jump

With a solid personal best, Sahara Cooper of Gulfport hit a mark of 18-2.5 in the long jump. This jump catapults her up the state rankings and places her as the 2nd best long jumper in the state.
