Week after week, Mississippi's overall cross-country rankings continue to shift as new performances shake up the leaderboard. With fresh times coming in, new names are breaking into the top spots and making their presence known. Each week, we'll highlight the athletes leading the way and track how the state's rankings are evolving.

This week, we are highlighting the top MHSAA athletes who are leading the rankings.

Leading the MHSAA rankings is Alex Lee from Madison Central High School. Her dominant 18:13 performance at the Memphis Twilight lands her as the fastest girl in MHSAA by over a minute. 

Behind her, Natalie Burge from Hernando High School put on an impressive performance at the Mustang Stampede Invitational, hitting a big personal best of 19:16 and earning the second fastest mark in the MHSAA classification.
