As the 2022-23 Mississippi Indoor Track and Field season takes off, let's take a look at the early state leaders in each field event through three weeks of the Indoor Track and Field season.
With the exception of the Pole Vault, Clinton High School leads every field event through the early phase of the Mississippi Indoor Track and Field season - This statistic is largely thanks to Clinton senior Maxiumus Littleton.
Littleton currently leads the state in all three jumps; 6-6 in the High Jump, 21-4.5 in the Long Jump, and 42-2 in the Triple Jump. These are solid season-opener marks, and his High Jump mark has been the highest we've seen since Hattiesburg's Camrun Norman, now a sophomore on the University of West Alabama Track and Field team. The Clinton, Miss. native is currently No. 6 in the nation in the High Jump.
