4. Brookelyn Morgan - Tupelo
Brookelyn Morgan is a rising star. This will be her first year in high school and she has already laid down her stake in the distance field. As just an 8th-grader, she placed 3rd at the MHSAA 6A XC State Meet with a personal best in the 5k at 19:22. She also easily won the MHSAA Middle School Cross Country Classic with a lead of about 50 seconds.
Not only that, but she put down some of the fastest times in the state during the indoor and outdoor track season. She qualified for the state meet in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m, and do keep in mind that during this time, she was a middle-schooler. Even more impressively, she won the 6A 3200m in a personal best time of 11:41.
Morgan may be young, but she is by far one of the best in the state. Keep an eye out for this young star.
