What if... you took the all-time greats from each school, and ran a DMR?
For those who don't know, the DMR stands for Distance Medley Relay, and is run in this order: Leg 1 - 1200m, Leg 2 - 400m, Leg 3 - 800m, Leg 4 - 1600m
It is an event that is not run too often, especially in high school, and when it is run, it is usually an indoor track event. It is actually contested at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and is indeed a very fun event to watch.
Continuing on Mississippi MileSplit's 'What If' series, we took the top 8 teams that would potentially have really good DMR squads, if we used each school's 'all-time greats'. So, after calculating each first leg 1200m by using their 800m and 1600m PR's, as well as calculating some 400m times using 300mH PR's, we compiled the results!
The 8 selected teams go as follows: Oxford High School, St. Andrew's HS, Madison Central HS, Madison Ridgeland Academy, Starkville High School, Hernando High School, Hattiesburg High School, and Pearl High School.
The format of the results is that each page is each team's relay leg.
There are some really fast girls listed, many of whom went on to have successful college careers. I am sure many of you will look at a lot of these names and remember the days when they used to dominate the Mississippi High School scene.
So, without further ado, click through each page and find out the result!
