Christian Balcer winning the 3200 at Harrison County
---
Cooler weather is still holding back on the sprint times plus some of the sprint stars have not competed outdoors yet. Look for Jordan Anthony, Tylertown High to correct this after his fine showing at the adidas Indoor National Championships.
Christian Balcer, East Central got distance running off to a great start with a 1:58.48, 800 meters, and 9:26.33, 3200 meters double at the Harrison County Meet.
In the field events, there are a number of nice starts to the season. Zion Nason, Ridgeland High started his season in the shot put with a fine 49'2.25" throw. In the discus Niquez Wade, Pearl High continued his great throwing with a 149'10" throw at the Pirate Relays. Amazing sophomore vaulter John Scott Kendrick, Oxford High got a great start to the season with a 15'3.5" vault at Rancho Olympia.
