Last week's winner was Eli Seaton from Pascagoula High School! After clocking a 16:33 for a big win at the Cory McGee Classic, he still holds onto the second-fastest time in the state. He will continue his season at the Gulf Coast Stampede, competing against some of the top athletes in the southeastern region. Be on the lookout for more noteworthy performances from him as he continues to impress.

Nominees for Aug 25-31
Autry Foster - Lewisburg High School: Competed at the Memphis Twilight, clocking a 16:22 to finish 11th overall. Autry was the fastest Mississippi finisher that day and the fastest Mississippi runner from last week.
Landon Morgan - Pearl High School: Competed at the Rankin County Championships, winning the race with a 16:51. This performance opens up his season over a minute faster than last year.
Reed Jordan - Lafayette High School: Competed at the TCPS Twilight, winning the race with a time of 17:07. This time was the third fastest in meet history.
Walter Towery - Jackson Academy: Competed at the Memphis Twilight, placing 16th overall with a time of 16:28. Compared to his season opener last year, this is an almost three-minute improvement. This was also a new PR by over a minute and a half.
