Last week's winner was Perry Hearst from Germantown High School. Competing at The Opener, he cruised to a second-place finish with a time of 16:17. This was a new PR by over twenty seconds and currently ranks him as the second fastest freshman in the state. He did not compete last weekend, but he will be continuing his season at the Saltillo Invitational this weekend. Be on the lookout for his performance there, as he looks to be one of the top finishers on that notoriously fast course!

We have another fresh ballot of performances from this week, which means it's time for you to vote! Look at our nominees below, and vote for who you think deserves to be this week's performer of the week!

**Once an athlete has won performer of the week, they will be exempt from nomination for two weeks to prevent the same athlete from winning the award every week.**

Nominees for September 8-14

Andrew Brown - Tupelo High School: Competed at the Southern Showcase, placing 8th with a time of 15:05. He was the fastest Mississippi athlete at that race and was just one second off of his all-time personal best.

Autry Foster - Lewisburg High School: Competed at the Mustang Stampede Invitational, winning with a time of 15:42. This was a forty-second personal best for him and the second fastest time in the state right now. It is also the second fastest time ever run by a freshman in Mississippi, ranked only behind Andrew Brown.

Eli Seaton - Pascagoula High School: Competed at the Southern Showcase, placing 47th with a time of 16:00. This was a thirty-second personal best for him and is currently the third fastest time in the state.

Joseph Ross - Saint Patrick: Competed at the Ocean Springs Invitational, winning with a time of 16:16. This time was almost a full minute faster than his performance at this same meet last year.

Trace Thornhill - Hernando High School: Competed at the Mustang Stampede Invitational, placing 3rd with a time of 16:03. This is a twenty-second personal best for him.

Cast your vote below for who you think should be this week's winner!

The poll will end on September 21st at 11:59 PM. Votes can be cast every twelve hours.
