Nominees for Aug 18-24
Autry Foster - Lewisburg High School: Competed at the NMPHC Cross Country Classic, winning the day with a 16:20, the fastest time from all divisions. This time was a twenty-one-second personal best for the freshman, currently ranking him as the fastest runner in the state.
Eli Seaton - Pascagoula High School: Competed at the Cory McGee Open, winning the day with a 16:33. He won the race by almost a full minute and came in about thirty seconds faster than his opener from last year.
Mac Wilemon - Tupelo High School: Competed at the Brooks High School Tennessee River Classic, placing 7th overall with a time of 16:44. He was the top Mississippi finisher and finished thirty seconds faster than he did at this same meet last year.
Jayden Smith - Simpson Academy: Competed at the Victors Kickoff at the Quarry, winning the day with a 17:00. He was not even in the top five entries for this meet, yet blazed a thirty-second personal best to stun the competition. Also, this performance was over a minute faster than his performance at this same meet from last year.
Jackson Jumper - St. Andrew's Episcopal School: Competed at the Ole Brook Invitational, winning the day with a 17:16. This performance marks a ten-second personal best for Jackson and a thirty-second improvement from this same meet last year.
