Varsity Boys 5K
Pearl High School, the No. 1 ranked High School boys' team in Mississippi, showed how deep their team truly is. The top six fastest runners from Pearl sat out of the county championship to rest for the upcoming championship season and gave their No. 7-13 runners some time to shine.

Jon Haralson secured the individual title of the 2022 Rankin County Champion at 17:00.0 for 5K, a nice seven-second PR. The rest of the Pirates came in swiftly behind him. The teams scoring seven all finished in the top 15 and had a 1-5 split of only 48 seconds. 
Varsity Girls 5K
Ella Rankin of Hartfield Academy won the 2022 Rankin County Championships in dominant fashion, blazing the 5K course in a new Mississippi No. 1 time of 18:23.0.

The Lady Pirates took the team win in the large school division with their most outstanding race this season. Four out of their top five all ran their fastest times this season and the team's top five all placed in the top 10.
