Christian Balcer at MHSAA Class 5A State Meet

Gold Division

Christian Balcer, East Central had a terrific day as he set the Mississippi boys' cross country 5K best time with his 14:38.83 at the Gold Division of the RunneingLane National Championships. He beat his old personal record by over 36 seconds.

Chase Rose, Oxford High ran 15:23.86 for 80th place in the Gold Division.

Taylor Brown, Tupelo High ran 16:38.63 for 233rd place and was the top 8th grader in the Gold Division.

Silver Division

Grayson Childress, Brookhaven High had a great day as he led his Southern Distance Project (Brookhaven High) team to a first-place finish in the Silver Division. Grayson ran 16:14.98 for 5th place. He was joined by teammates Sam Arnold (12th), Trey Knott (62nd), Jake Thompson (68th), and Collin Kellum (85th).

Cooper Parmer, Pontotoc High ran 16:45.28 to finish 25th in the Silver Division.

Jaheim Bridges, Tupelo ran 17:36.34 for 103rd place.

Christopher Eskesen, Tupelo High along with teammate J.T. Posey ran 19:10 and 19:12 respectively.

John Thomas Draper went 18:41 with Robert Draper going 20:13 and Chase Drewery going 20:21 all from Corinth HIgh.

Finally Brooks Bresee, Tupelo Christian ran 21:23 here in the Silver Division

Girls Gold

For the girls' Madison Jones, Saltillo High ran a nice 18:05.95 to finish 28th in the girls Gold Division. It was not a personal record but it was her fastest time to 2020.

Charlee Brees Franks, Columbia Academy ran a personal best of 20:24.50 for 150th place.
