With the first official week of Mississippi cross country in the books, we're excited to bring back the Most Improved Series! Each week, we'll spotlight one meet and highlight athletes who made the biggest jumps compared to their performances at the same meet last year.
To kick off the 2025 edition, we're featuring the NMPHC Cross Country Classic.
On the boys' side, Reily Holcomb of Saltillo High School leads the way as the most improved. Reily slashed nearly seven minutes off his time from last year, running an 18:41 this past weekend. Dropping that much time in one season is impressive on its own, but doing it while breaking into the 18s makes the accomplishment even more rare.
