As the 2022-23 Mississippi Indoor Track and Field season takes off, let's take a look at the early state leaders in each sprinting event through two meets of the Indoor Track and Field season. 

Here are some major performances to take a look at:

Perhaps the most impressive mark that has been run thus far is Cooper Rodgers' 49.09 400m dash performance, good enough to win the event at the Holiday Invitational #2. This mark set by the Raymond High School junior is an overall lifetime best, meaning that is the fastest he has covered 400 meters, indoor or outdoor. He currently sits at No. 2 in the nation in the event, as well as No. 5 in Mississippi High School Boys Indoor Track and Field history - The last time someone ran as fast as Rodgers was in 2018, back in the days of Clinton's Kristopher Moore
