At the 2022 Union County Championships, Ally Murphy, a seventh grader of Myrtle High School, made her high school debut with a first-place finish in a time of 20:58.0. She did this a mere two days after setting the 3k middle school state record at the 2022 MHSAA Middle School Cross Country Classic. The winner of the boys race was Brodie Moore of West Union HS. Moore clipped the course in 17:10.0 to finish with a 30-second PR.
At the 2022 French Camp Classic, Evan Hallford, a freshman of Neshoba Central HS, won by a dominant 49 seconds over the next finisher. Lucy Littlejohn of French Camp also secured another win this season.
