*Andrew Brown at the 2022 Southern Showcase

Tupelo Christian Prep School continue their small school boys' dominance and take the 1-3A Boys team title. Their top runner was the 2022 MHSAA 1A 800m and 1600m State Champion, Bounds Simmons, and they continue to be the favorite to take the 2022 MHSAA 1A Cross Country team title. 

2021 MHSAA 2A Cross Country Champion Eliza McCarley got her first win of the 2022 cross country season, taking the 1-3A Girls individual title in 21:33.8. Walnut senior Madilynn Vuncannon was less than three seconds behind in second, 21:36.3. 

East Union High School edged out Walnut High School for the small School girls' team title, 61 to 63 points. 

Andrew Brown continued his reign over the Mississippi middle school boys' distance running scene, running 10:17.5 to set a new course record.
