100 Meter Dash

Perhaps one of the most exciting events of the 2022 Clinton Season Opener was the HS Boys 100m dash (pictured above).

In the fast heat of the varsity section, the race was hyping up to be a showdown between the nationally-ranked freshman Omari Hampton of Clinton High versus the 2021 MHSAA 6A State Champion Ashton Smith of Madison Central. With 30 meters to go, Hampton and Smith were in the fight for the win... But was so Clinton's Kyler Hutton

And in those last 30 meters, Hutton had the best acceleration phase to snag the W against a stellar field.

One thing is for sure - In the sprint relays, with Hutton leading off and Hampton on the anchor mixed in with the likes of Bryce Spann and Aiden Knox on the anchor, that will be a very hard team to beat in April and May.

Speaking of Knox...

He is another Clinton star who had an incredible weekend. As a matter of fact, Knox, the 8th grader, actually ran the fastest time of the weekend ...
