Future Stars: Tupelo Christian's Carson Kessler

In this week's edition of 'Future Stars,' we highlight Tupelo Christian Prep School's, Carson Kessler!

Kessler is a freshman who specializes in the pole vault and also dabbles in the middle-distance events. After setting a PR of 11-6 in the pole vault at the 2022 Martin Luther King Indoor Track Classic on Jan. 17, Kessler is currently ranked third in the state for pole vault.

Kessler has competed in the pole vault since middle school. Last year, Kessler won his divisional, regional, and north state championships and ultimately came in second at the 2021 MHSAA 1A state championship tying his season-best height of 11-0.

A versatile athlete, Kessler also competes in cross country and middle-distance track events. In the 2021 cross country season, Kessler competed on Tupelo Christian Prep's state championship-winning varsity team. Last outdoor season, he placed third in the 800m in his divisional, regional, and north state championship meets. In the 2022 indoor season, he has set a PR in the 400m at the Martin Luther King meet on Jan. 17 and clocked a time of 2:18 in 800m at the Last Chance meet on Jan. 29, only a second off his PR of 2:17.

Adding to this his recent PR in the pole vault, Kessler's future is indeed bright. We look forward to seeing what he continues to achieve this season.
