Turning to this Saturday at the Golden Wave Season Opener, Tupelo will be hosting their own season opener and flex their distance talent on both the girls' and boys' sides.
The freshman, Brookelyn Morgan of Tupelo will be the top runner to watch this coming weekend. She has a significant repertoire for putting out fast times. Morgan also holds a personal best of 19:22 for the 5k which was recorded at the MHSAA State Meet. Not only that, but she has laid out fast times during the 2021 outdoor track season as well.
Taylor Brown, another freshman from Tupelo, will most likely be a top runner to keep your eye on this weekend. Brown has been an extremely successful young talent, much like Morgan. Brown is returning with a personal best of 16:03 in the 5k and also a hot streak from the outdoor track season. Expect Brown and teammate Jaheim Bridges to try and go 1-2, as they are trying to become the best duo in Mississippi this year.
