My Favorite Distance Event The 800 Meters Boys

The reason this is my favorite distance event as it is the one I ran in high school. Of course back in those days it was the 880 yard run and all tracks were cinder. Timing was done by stop watch and the finish line at big meets had stands for the timers. Close races were up to the place judges decision no pictures to help.
Now of course the number one 800 meter runner in Mississippi is George Kersh, the girls coach at Pearl High. He is the only high school runner from Mississippi to break the 1:50.00 barrier. Steve Shoto , Pearl High came close with his 1:51.90 in 2011.
