Meet Hub: As Of Sunday Morning


A number of meets were moved or even cancelled due to the weather this week however here are the meets reported at this point.

Tuesday

MHSAA Region 1-3A

Results 

Jes Patrick led the boys with 17:47 and Katie Meeks, Kossuth, ran 19: 57 to win the individual races. Kossuth swept the meet winning both team races.

Wednesday

MHSAA Middle School Classic

Great meet for the first ever Middle School Championships. We had six races in 3 divisions with 12 videos and over 1300 pictures posted. Top times for the day were Tanner Moore, Pearl, Large Schools, 11:01.98 a new course record, and Elsie Wilbanks, Corinth, Medium Schools 12:56.46.
Thursday
MHSAA District 5-6-7 Region Cross Country Championships

Some great racing in three divisions with a mix of Regions and Classifications. Top times for the day were Grayson Edwards, Northwest Rankin, 16:30.44 and Lauren Entremont, Brandon, 19:10.11. 
MHSAA Region 4-4A

Alonzo Henry, Choctaw Central, 17:37.30 led the race and his team to the title. Emily Snodgrass, West Lauderdale 19:59.00 won the girls race and her team took the title.
MHSAA Southern Regions Championships

Christian Balcer, East Central has a fantastic performance over a course as tough as Choctaw Trail running 15:50.28. Ocean Springs took the overall team title with 37 points. In the girls race it was Brooklyn Biancamano, Long Beach with a fantastic time of 18:07.68 over the tough course. Ocean Springs girls made it a clean sweep of the team titles.
MHSAA Region 2-4A
William Porter, Pontotoc took the individual title with a time of 17:10.01 will leading his team to the title with just 20 points. Kate Gann, Itawamba to the individual race with 20.:55.19 but it was Caledonia taking the girls team title by one point over Moorevile 47 to 48.
MHSAA Region 1-3A
Gabe McElwain, Walnut High took the race with 19:06.90 over team mate Kaden Braddock. Saydee Taylor, New Site won the girls race in 21:04.81.
MHSAA Region 1-4A

Joel Parker, led Corinth to the team running 17:34.74 win the individual race. Elsie Wilbanks, led the Corinth girls in a sweep of the team titles while running 2146.88 to win her race. What is unique about this time is she had run the MHSAA Middle School Classic the day before winning the 2 mile title in the Medium School division.
