Class 1A
Maggie Moody, Myrtle continues a long line of runners from that school to be at or near the top in the classifcation. Her 21:01 only leads Gracie Mills, Potts Camp by less that 4 seconds. Life at the top of Class 1A is tough and the times this year could reflect it.
Class 2A
Aubrey Britt, Loyd Star came out of no where last year as a 7th grader to take over class 1A with a 19:55. The thing to watch is can she continue to improve and can the rest of 2A catch up lead by Brooke Robinson, Clarkdale.
Class 3A
Sierra Wallace, Choctaw leads Lauren Green, Kossuth less than one second so this classification could be smoking hot. Both of these young ladies could break the 20 minute barrier this season.
Class 4A
Emma Claire James, West Lauderdale takes over as the top lady in Class 4A. Her 19:16 from last year easily leads the classification. The only thing this young lady needs to do is concentrate on her running and she could break 19 minutes and threaten 18 minutes this season.
Class 5A
Brooklyn Biancamano, Long Beach the eight grade phenom from last year could really make a run at the overall state best run by Corey McGee. Her 17:57 positions her are the best in the state. She will have to overcome her growth spurt from last year and get stronger to run what I think could be 17:30 or better.
Class 6A
Gracie Ferguson, D'Iberville leads this classification with 19:27 but that was run on the flat course at Ocean springs. She is going have to put in the miles if she wants to beat Katelyn Cartwright, Hernando for a state titles
