Howdy folks, it's your favorite coach on the coast with a preview of the 2A, 4A, and 6A state meet.
I'm going to
give you a run down of the girls first and then the boys. I'll predict the podium, top 3, in each
division - and I'm basing this on virtual meets using season best times as well
as my experience and gut. Here we go...
In 2A girls
it will be Clarkdale followed by Saint Patrick, with East Union and New Site
fighting it out for third.
Senatobia will win 4A girls by a wide margin with Pontotoc finishing as State Runner-Up and Pass Christian in third.
No one can
catch Ocean Springs in 6A. Pearl will finish second with Tupelo in third.
Now for the
boys...
In 2A West
Lincoln High School should win it all with Saint Patrick in second and Clarkdale third.
4A is the division I have the most experience with - and there are honestly six or seven teams that could have a good day and win it all. However, I'm going to pick Corinth to take the title, Pontotoc to take second, and East Central to finish third. You never know though - watch out for teams like Mooreville, Kosciusko, Saint Stanislaus, or Senatobia to sneak onto the podium instead.
The 6A boys race is going to be close. I'm going to pick fellow coast team Ocean Springs to upset Pearl in a close one. I think Oxford will finish third.
