By DP Daigle
DP: What is your name, what grade are you in, and what school do you go to?
LL: My name is Landry Lemoine and I am a junior at Saint Stanislaus.
DP: What is your current Personal Record (Best
Time)?
LL: My PR is 17:58 for the 5k.
DP: What is the next goal or time that you are
trying to hit?
LL: My next goal is to break 17 minutes.
DP: What is your favorite workout your Coach has
you do?
LL: Mile repeats at race pace is my favorite workout because they push you past what you think your limits are.
DP: What is your least favorite workout?
LL: My least favorite workout is a rest day.
DP: What are your plans after high school?
LL: I want to go to college and run cross country at the next level.
DP: What motivates you to run?
LL: Inspiring others to do what they think they cannot do is what motivates me.
DP: What do you think about when you're running?
LL: I try to remember my envisioned run from the night before and I remember som of the motivational quotes I listened to.
DP: Do you have any superstitions on race day or
perhaps an odd pre-race routine?
LL: The night before I will listen to music and envision my run, making it as terrible as possible. On race day, I always wear long sleeve shirts and pants and listen to motivational mixes. Right before we race I pray to God.
DP: Two quick ones. . . Gatorade or Powerade? Jersey
(Singlet), tucked or untucked?
LL: Powerade and tucked - my coach makes me.
DP:
What is your GPA and ACT score?
LL: I have a 4.0 GPA and I have not taken the ACT yet.
DP: Do you have a favorite meal for the night
before a race?
LL: I like to eat fish, preferably salmon, and some pasta.
DP: Do you take ice baths? If yes, what do you think about during an ice
bath?
LL: Yes and I try to remember that this ice bath is 10 times worse than the pain I will feel in a race.
DP: Name a lesson that running and training as a
runner has taught you.
LL: Running has taught me that you can become someone just through grit and determination, even in you don't have talent.
DP: Do you have a rival runner? Or who is your team's biggest rival?
LL: The only rival I have is myself.
DP: What do you do to recover after a race?
LL: I drink lots of water and have a big meal.
DP: What is your favorite thing about your coach?
LL: My coach knows when it is time to push us through workouts and when to make us laugh.
DP: What is the strangest thing you've seen
during a race?
LL: I'm pretty new to cross country so the only crazy thing I have seen is a dog chasing my teammate to the finish line. What motiviation!
DP: Who is your biggest fan?
LL: My parents are my biggest fans because they have set a foundation for me and encourage me at every race.
DP: What advice would you like to share with
younger runners, maybe the JH kids on your team?
LL: I would and do tell them that hard work pays off, even if id doesn't look like it right now. You must push yourself each day to a level that you did not think was possible in order to improve.
DP: Is
there anything else you want to share with the MileSplit Community?
LL: Than you MileSplit for allowing me to see my times and how they stack up with everyone else's.
