DP: What is your name, what grade are you in, and what school do you go to?
MP: I am Mason Prince and I'm in the 11th grade at D'Iberville High School
DP: What is your current Personal Record (Best
Time)?
MP: 19:10 is my 5k PR.
DP: What is the next goal or time that you are
trying to hit?
MP: I want to get to 17:30.
DP: What is your favorite workout your Coach has
you do?
MP: Squat exercises
DP: What is your least favorite workout?
MP: When we have to do 8 200 meter runs.
DP: What are your plans after high school?
MP: I plan to go to college.
DP: What motivates you to run?
MP: Physically running keeps me in shape. Mentally, it allows me to focus on a goal and surpass it. Spiritually, it reminds me of what the Bible says in Hebrews 12:1 "Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."
DP: What do you think about when you're running?
MP: How close I am to the finish line.
DP: Do you have any superstitions on race day or
perhaps an odd pre-race routine?
MP: Nothing in particular. However, about ten minutes before the race I become extremely focused. There is a mental zone of preparation that happens.
DP: Two quick ones. . . Gatorade or Powerade? Jersey
(Singlet), tucked or untucked?
MP: Powerade and no preference on my jersey.

MP: My GPA is 3.72.
DP: Do you have a favorite meal for the night
before a race?
MP: Olive Garden's chicken alfredo.
DP: Do you take ice baths? If yes, what do you think about during an ice
bath?
MP: I take ice baths occsionally
DP: Name a lesson that running and training as a
runner has taught you.
MP: To not walk.
DP: Do you have a rival runner? Or who is your team's biggest rival?
MP: I strive to improve my personal time, so I guess I am my own rival.
DP: What do you do to recover after a race?
MP: I drink water and rest.
DP: What is your favorite thing about your coach?
MP: My coach is strict, however she pushes me to higher levels.
DP: What is the strangest thing you've seen
during a race?
MP: In the middle of a practice run I came upon a man who had tipped his lawn mower over on the side, he was stuck.
DP: Who is your biggest fan?
MP: Mrs. Jennifer Clement is my biggest fan.
DP: What advice would you like to share with
younger runners, maybe the JH kids on
your team?
MP: Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.
