PAGES: Calendar | Rankings | Results

There's a star on the rise at Washington School in Mississippi, a young athlete that's been causing quite the stir in the Middle School Track and Field circuit.

Despite his youthful age, Cedric Dove, a rising freshman, has already established a formidable reputation in the world of sprints and hurdles, hinting at a bright future ahead in the sport.

As a middle-schooler, Dove's accomplishments are far beyond ordinary. He has stamped his mark in the MAIS in a way that few his age have managed. At the 2023 MAIS 5A Track and Field Championships, Dove graced the podium not once, but twice. This energetic athlete won silver in the 110-meter hurdles and went on to capture bronze in the 300-meter hurdles. These feats are impressive for any athlete, let alone an eighth-grader competing at the varsity level.

However, what truly sets Dove apart and earmarks him as a future star in track and field is his impressive national ranking. Dove is not only the top middle-schooler in both the 110mH and 300mH in Mississippi, but he also reigns supreme amongst his peers across the entire nation.

As we look towards the upcoming season, the anticipation is palpable. If his past performances are any indication, Dove has even more thrilling feats in store for us.

With his exceptional talent and commitment to the sport, Dove is the embodiment of our Future Stars Friday series. And as we celebrate his achievements today, we eagerly look forward to his bright future in track and field.

Remember the name, for Cedric Dove is certainly one to watch.
