Future Stars: Kirk Academy's Charley Rose

In this edition MileSplit Mississippi Future Stars, we are highlighting Kirk Academy's Charley Rose, a distance runner who is in the Class of 2026!

Rose may be a young athlete, but she has already built up quite the resume and has achieved what other runners only dream of doing. 

In her 8th-grade season, Rose won the 2021 MAIS 4A High School Girls Individual title.

Then, Rose came back in the Spring and won the distance triple crown of the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m.

This triple is very hard to do, and Rose already has four state titles and hasn't even started high school. 

Her 3200m PR of 12:53 put her at No. 9 in the state in Mississippi 8th-grade girls 3200m rankings, which put her amidst some of the best future stars in Mississippi.

Rose is not only a future star, but also a current star! As Rose continues to develop in the sport of distance running, it will be very exciting to see what the sport does for her in the future.
