Young Mississippi track and field sensation, Sterling Scott of Starkville High, has yet again made a remarkable stride, placing third at the U-20 U.S.A. Track and Field Championships in the Triple Jump. The Starkville, Miss. native secured a mark of 49-8 in his marquee event.

Because of this outstanding accomplishment, the three-time MHSAA 6A Champion will proudly represent the United States at the U-20 World Track and Field Championships in Puerto Rico, taking place from August 4-6.

Scott, a University of Missouri track signee, has shown his extraordinary prowess in track and field throughout his high school career. He has not only won three MHSAA 6A titles, but also holds the record for the second-farthest Triple Jump mark in Mississippi High School Boys Track and Field history with a leap of 50-11.

MileSplit Mississippi applauds Sterling Scott for his impressive accomplishments. As Mississippi's leading authority in track and field, we take pride in our state's exceptional talent. We celebrate Scott's successes as he continues to set the bar high for future Mississippi track and field athletes.
