BILOXI, Miss. --- Biloxi High School's Julie Segroves has made history by breaking the Mississippi High School Girls' Outdoor Track and Field record in the Pole Vault, taking the record from the reigning MHSAA 6A Champion in the High School Girls' Pole Vault, Katelyn Hulsey of NW Rankin. She achieved this remarkable feat by clearing 13-4 in her outdoor opener, winning the Sabbatini Relays, held at her home turf in Biloxi.

Segroves' accomplishment is no small feat, as she has now secured both the indoor and outdoor state records for the pole vault. Her incredible jump not only won her the Sabbatini Relays but also ranked her No. 1 in the nation.

Biloxi High School is emerging as a strong program in High School Girls' Track and Field, with the likes of Segroves, the Yelverton sisters(Addison Yelverton and Emerson Yelverton), Cheyanne Alston, and Kendyll White, among others. With such a talented group of athletes, Biloxi has the potential to give Clinton a run for their money at the 2023 MHSAA 6A High School Girls Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
