This week's Future Stars Friday turns the spotlight onto Neshoba Central's prodigious talent, Quinton Dan, a name that has become synonymous with youthful agility and unquenchable passion for the sport.

Quinton returns to the 2023 Mississippi Cross Country season wearing a mantle that isn't easy to carry - the fastest eighth-grader on the circuit. It's a title he earned through his lifetime best of 18:38 in the 5K(XC), set at the highly competitive 2022 MHSAA 5-6-7 Super Regional Championships held at Choctaw Trails.

The young prodigy didn't stop there. Quinton took his tenacious spirit to the 2022 MHSAA 5A Cross Country Championships, where, despite being a seventh-grader amongst more seasoned athletes, he secured a commendable 15th place finish. Although he narrowly missed an All-MHSAA 5A scoring position, his formidable performance served as a testament to his immense potential.

With the new season on the horizon, all eyes are on Quinton as he readies to take on the tracks and, hopefully, break the elusive sub-18 minute mark. His journey so far is proof that he's more than capable of overcoming the odds.

With every stride he takes, Quinton Dan continues to exemplify the spirit of the future stars of Mississippi's middle school track and field scene. As we move into the new season, we can't wait to see what this rising star accomplishes next.
