In this week's edition of MileSplit Mississippi's'Future Stars,' we are highlighting Samuel Lewis of Christ Covenant School!
Lewis had a 'Hollywood' 2022 Cross Country season, garnering six wins out of seven total races. He ended the season with lifetime bests of 10:24.0 in the 3K and 10:53.0 in the 2-mile. His 10:24 3K performance slotted him at No. 1 in the MAIS and No. 4 in Mississippi Junior High Boys, while his 2-mile performance put him at No. 2 in Mississippi Junior High Boys, only behind Tupelo's Andrew Brown.

Lewis's cherry on top to end the 2022 Cross Country season was his MAIS Junior High Boys title at the MAIS Overall XC Meet, breaking the tape in 10:35.4 on a hot day at Choctaw Trails.
