This week's edition of MileSplit Mississippi's Future Stars highlights Tupelo High School's, Burton Potts!
With lifetime bests of 10:28 in the 3K and 18:40 in the 5K, Potts has proven to be a formidable competitor on both the track and the grass.
During the 2022 Cross Country season, Potts consistently placed in the top five in various races. He had a particularly impressive win at the TCPS Twilight and a third-place finish to teammate Andrew Brown and Oxford's Toshan Delong at the MHSAA Middle School Classic. The Tupelo eighth-grader also finished fourth at the highly competitive Watson Middle School Classic 3K.
Since the 2021 season, Potts has shown significant improvement and is poised to continue progressing in the sport of distance running, and is definitely one to watch out for in the future.
