In total, around 200 Mississippi High School Girls improved from the 2021 to 2022 Cross Country season, with the most improved being Avery Sawyer of Lewisburg High, dropping six minutes and 23 seconds off her 5K personal record.

Columbia Academy had two athletes inside of the top six, Emmi Burrell and Mendi Stringer, who both dropped over four and a half minutes off their 5K personal records.
Perhaps the biggest improvers who are now near the top of the Mississippi High School Girls' Cross Country scene are Emma Raines of East Rankin, Eva Null of Kossuth, and Reese Johnson of Madison Ridgeland, three preps who are well on their way to getting under 20 minutes in the 5K next season.
