Future Stars: Tupelo High's Carrie Anne Brown

Carrie Anne Brown at the 2022 TCPS Twilight

For this week's Milesplit Mississippi Future Stars, we are featuring Carrie Anne Brown of Tupelo!

Those who kept up with the first few weeks of this season should be familiar with Brown. She is fresh off her first career win at the 2022 TCPS Twilight, where she ran a 1.5-mile race in 10:23, thirty seconds ahead of the next finisher.

The seventh grader led her team to victory in the Junior High race, where Tupelo had all top five runners in the first twenty finishers.

Brown started her season with a fantastic finish at the 2022 Brooks High School Tennessee River Classic. She placed second in the 5-7A JV Girls race. In this two-mile race, Brown crossed the finish line at 13:27 as the top Mississippi finisher.

She will be in good hands over the rest of her middle school and high school career as she joins a stacked Tupelo team. Both the middle school and high school girls' teams won their respective races at a competitive TCPS Twilight meet.

With these two impressive performances and the whole season ahead, it should be an exciting year for Brown on the grass.
