In this week's edition of 'Future Stars,' we highlight Jamarquse Spivey of McAdams High School!

Spivey is an eighth-grade sprinter who became this year's MHSAA 1A state champion in the 200m dash. He ran a PR of 23.12 to win the championship race. Spivey ranks as Mississippi's fastest eighth-grader in the 200m, as well as the second-fastest eighth-grader in the 100m for the 2022 outdoor season.

Spivey also achieved a bronze medal in the 100m at the 2022 MHSAA 1A Track and Field State Championships, running a time of 11.62, a tenth of a second behind his season-best of 11.52 from his regional meet two weeks prior.

In his seventh-grade season, Spivey focused on the 100m dash. He set his 100m PR of 11.19 at his regional meet, the 2021 X, and finished the 2021 season as the fastest seventh grader in the state in the event.

Having now become a state champion as an eighth-grader, Spivey looks to have an exciting high school career ahead of him, and we look forward to seeing what he achieves moving forward!
