Last Week: Future Stars: Saint Patrick High School's Bella Jordan

----

In this week's edition of 'Future Stars,' we are highlighting Kewan Miner of Amite County High School!

Miner is a freshman who excels in the 400-meter dash. Competing in his debut outdoor track season, Miner won the 400m in his division, region, and south state meets. At the MHSAA 2A State Championships on April 29, he set a PR of 51.89 to become the 2A state champion in the event. He then went on to clock an even faster time of 51.51 at the Mississippi Track & Field Meet of Champions on May 14. Miner concludes his season as the second-fastest freshman in the state in the 400m.

While the 400m is his best event, Miner has also competed in the 200-meter dash this season. His PR of 23.10, set at his regional meet on April 14, ranks him in the top six freshmen in the state in the event.

With a state championship victory already under his belt, Miner's track career is off to a promising start, and it will be exciting to see what he achieves in the years to come.
