In this week's edition of 'Future Stars,' we highlight Oxford High School's, Bailey Kosko!

Kosko is a talented middle-distance freshman who has excelled in both cross country and track this year. Kosko's 800m PR of 2:03.35, set at the 2022 MHSAA Region 1-6A meet on April 14, marks him as one of the top two freshmen in the state in the event this year, as he is tied with Northwest Rankin HS's Dylan Harley for the fastest time.

Kosko also made an impressive showing in the 2021 cross country season. After starting out the season with a 5k time of 19:03, Kosko rapidly improved over the course of the season. His unexpected performance at the 2021 MHSAA 6A Cross Country State Championships, running a time of 16:53, was key in helping Oxford win the team title. Kosko subsequently improved his time further at the 2022 Mississippi XC All-State Meet of Champions, setting a new PR of 16:52. 

In both cross country and track, Kosko has shown marked improvement over the course of this year, and the future of his high school career looks bright.
