This week's edition of 'Future Stars' highlights Emerson Yelverton of Biloxi High School!
With a PR of 2:34.53 set at the Gulf Coast Classic held on March 18-19, Yelverton is currently the fastest seventh-grade girl in the state in the 800-meter run. She is also ranked 11th in the nation among seventh-grade 800m runners.
Yelverton competed in cross country last fall and has also raced the 1600m so far this outdoor season. Her time of 5:54.36 marks her the third-fastest seventh-grade girl in the event this season.
Starting off her track career strong, Yelverton shows great potential as a seventh-grader, and it will be exciting to see what she can achieve moving forward.
