Kennedi Sanders - Madison Ridgeland Academy

Indoor and Outdoor 400m State record holder Kennedi Sanders tried her short sprint talents at the 2022 Nike Indoor National Championships, joining her club teammate Jordan Anthony (XCEL Athletics).

Sanders qualified for the 60m and 200m final, where she went on to place fifth in the 60m final.

Luke Johnson - Oxford High School

2021 MHSAA 6A Cross Country State Champion Luke Johnson of Oxford qualified in 'Rising Stars' section of the 2-mile at the 2022 New Balance Indoor Championships, thanks to his 9:40 3200m performance from the 2022 IceBreaker Invitational.

In that race, Johnson ran 9:39 for the full 2-mile, which is slightly longer than the 3200m distance. According to AthleticLive who had a timing mat down at the 3200m mark, Johnson came through 3200 meters at 9:36.43, which puts him at #3 All-time in Mississippi, less than two seconds off of Brock Kelly's 9:34.6 that he ran at the 2019 Magic City Invitational

Ethan Knight - Oxford High School

Joining his teammate, Ethan Knight joined Johnson in the same race, the Rising Stars 2-mile at the 2022 New Balance Indoor Championships. Also like Johnson, Knight got there by running 9:40 at the 2022 IceBreaker Invitational

In that race, Knight went 9:53 for the full 2 miles, coming through the 3200m mat in 9:49.78. Knight still stands at #4 All-time thanks to his 9:40 that is to his name, according to our records in MileSplit Mississippi.
