This week's edition of 'Future Stars' features Clinton High School's, Kaitlyn Jones!

Jones is a freshman who specializes in the hurdles. Jones made her indoor debut at the Last Chance meet in Birmingham on Jan. 28, where she set a time of 10.15 in the 60-meter hurdles. With this mark, Jones is currently ranked fourth in the state in the event.

In middle school, Jones regularly competed in the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. In the 2021 outdoor season, she set PRs of 16.20 in the 100m hurdles and 47.77 in the 300m hurdles. The eighth-grader placed fourth in the 2021 MHSAA 6A State Championship in the 100m hurdles. She also won her AAU regional qualifier in both the 100m hurdles and 200m hurdles and went on to compete in both events in the AAU Junior Olympic Games in the summer of 2021.

Having made a strong start to the 2022 track season, Jones's future on the track looks promising heading into outdoor.
