MileSplit Mississippi All-State Teams: Ranking #4

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS

7. Riley Jackson - Hernando High School - Sophomore

- Last Ranking: #6

- Last Performance: 20:56 5k, 4th place finish at the Saltillo XC Invitational

- Next Race: Frank Horton 'Night' Invitational

For the 4th ranking in a row, Jackson has managed to stay on the All-State Team. She has had a decent season thus far, most recently running at the stacked Saltillo Invitational to finish 4th behind 3 other members currently on the All-State Team. The course was newly-lengthened and we didn't quite have the 50-degree weather that was at Saltillo Invitational, so I think it was still a decent outing for Jackson. However, I definitely think that she has more left in the tank, and we will see what all she has left at Frank Horton this Friday night.

6. Kate Gann - Itawamba AHS - Senior

- Last Ranking: #5

- Last Performance: 20:05 5k PR, 3rd place finish at the Saltillo XC Invitational

- Next Race: 2021 Tupelo Invitational

Although Gann is moving back a spot, she has still continued to be on fire this season. At Saltillo, she almost hawked down All-State Member and 19:05 5k runner Brookelyn Morgan, and still came through for a solid 3rd place finish and nearly cracking the 20-minute barrier. She has another shot at Morgan this upcoming weekend along with the top-heavy Saltillo squad who have 3 girls who have broken 20. So far, Gann has consistently shown up on the day all season, so we'll see what she has in store for us on Saturday.
