Starting this year in Cross Country, Mississippi MileSplit will be bringing custom-made 'Metro Rankings' to the state of Mississippi!
So, what are 'Metro Rankings'? Well, it is exactly what it sounds like! Metro Rankings are rankings that feature certain counties in each metropolitan/micropolitan area of the state. There will be 8 total Metro's, which are:
Jackson Metro
Hattiesburg Metro
Meridian Metro
Oxford Metro
The CST Metro (Columbus-Starkville-Tupelo)
The Delta
The Coast
'Lousiana State Line' Section
To make sure everything was equal and that every county was included, we had to tweak a couple of counties on which metro area they are in. For the most part, though, everything should line up near-perfect. I do realize that Mississippi is a little too small to have 8 Metro's, but this was a good way to get every school and county involved into their own local rankings page.
It is going to take a little bit of time to make these, as I will need to go through and place every single individual school in each metro region. The goal will be to get them out by the end of August.
