It seems that everyone loves the sprints so let us see which boys sprint event will be the most-watched this spring in outdoor track.
To me, the 4X100 meter relay is one of the best sprint events. It only takes a small bobble or a slow handoff and the results can be changed. Even when you have a dominating fast team the lead can change in a moment.
A lot of people will argue that the 100 meters is the premier sprint event. Here is pure power and speed on display. But the results can change in a moment. If a sprinter does not warm-up correctly or had a slow start it can change the event completely.
To me, in the pure sprint events (not a relay) the 400 meters is a joy to watch. Of course, I have a slight prejudice here as I ran this event in college. Here you need speed, stamina, and heart to be able to cross the line first.
